My Must-Have Allergy & Lifestyle Essentials: What I Always Carry With Me
Living with food allergies means being prepared, but it doesn’t have to be complicated! Over time, I’ve figured out a simple kit of allergy and lifestyle essentials I always keep on hand. These items help me feel confident and ready, whether I’m running errands, traveling, or just out and about.
Here’s what’s always in my bag:
1. EpiPen
I always double-check the expiration date to make sure it’s current and ready if I ever need it. It’s essential to have it within reach at all times.
2. Benadryl
Another must-have for allergy reactions.
3. Hand Sanitizer
Keeping my hands clean is a small but important step to avoid cross-contact with allergens, especially when I’m out.
4. Water Bottle
Hydration is key! Plus, it’s useful for washing away accidental exposures or just staying refreshed.
5. Allergy-Friendly Granola Bar or Snack
Hunger strikes at the worst times, so I always carry a safe snack that won’t trigger any allergies.
6. Sunglasses
Not allergy-related, but super important.
7. Medical ID Bracelet
If I’m not wearing it, I make sure it’s somewhere accessible. It’s an important way to alert others to my allergies in an emergency.
8. Lip Gloss
Because who doesn’t want a little self-care on the go?
9. Phone with Emergency Contacts
This might seem obvious, but I always make sure my phone has up-to-date emergency contacts saved and easy to access.
